With barely 10 legions he is among the most modest spirits in this stretch, though the text titles him a Mighty Duke, a Venusian rank, and offers no etymology of the name. His form combines the body of a lion with the head of a braying ass. The manuscript describes him as a good familiar, that is, a companion spirit useful to the operator, and in the same breath delivers the warning: he tempts those who keep his company to steal. That ambiguity - obliging and corrupting at once - is his defining trait. In recent popular culture the name resurfaces, for instance, as a summonable creature in the Final Fantasy video game series.
