The manuscript presents Orobas as a horse that takes human shape the moment it is commanded to. No firm mythological antecedent is known for him, and it is best not to force the etymology. His grade is that of Prince, a rank the text associates with Jupiter and with the expansion of influence; he commands twenty legions, a modest figure within the catalogue. The operator turned to him for divination of past, present and future, and above all for dignities, prelacies and the favour of friends and enemies. The entry insists on an uncommon trait: he is faithful, and will not allow another spirit to tempt the one who calls him.
