An archer dressed in green, with bow and quiver and no monstrous feature at all: the soberest and most visual description in this stretch. Of the name, also written Leraie or Loray, there is no established etymology. The text makes him a Marquis of great power, a lunar rank, with 30 legions. What he was asked for was concrete harm: to provoke battles and strife, and to make wounds caused by arrows putrefy and refuse to close. He is a spirit of war in the literal sense, and the manuscript credits him with no compensating function - no learning, no love, no treasure - which is uncommon among the seventy-two.
