El nombre de Belial es el más antiguo de este tramo: en la Biblia hebrea beli-ya'al aparece como sustantivo común, con el sentido de «sin provecho», de donde vienen expresiones como «hijos de Belial»; en la literatura del Segundo Templo y en la Segunda Carta a los Corintios ya funciona como nombre propio. El grimorio lo hace rey, grado solar y con mando sobre otros espíritus, y le asigna ochenta legiones, de las cifras más altas del catálogo. Se manifiesta como dos ángeles bellísimos en un carro de fuego y habla con voz agradable. Se le pedían cargos y favores; el texto advierte que exige ofrendas.

Belial's name is the oldest in this stretch: in the Hebrew Bible beli-ya'al appears as a common noun meaning "without worth", whence expressions such as "sons of Belial"; in Second Temple literature and in the Second Letter to the Corinthians it already functions as a proper name. The grimoire makes him a King, a solar grade with command over other spirits, and assigns him eighty legions, among the highest figures in the catalogue. He manifests as two exceedingly beautiful angels in a chariot of fire and speaks with a pleasant voice. He was asked for offices and favours; the text warns that he demands offerings.
