Aunque su nombre coincida con una palabra latina corriente, no hay evidencia de que Furfur derive de ella y el texto no ofrece antecedente alguno. El grimorio lo hace gran conde poderoso, grado marcial, con veintiséis legiones. Se le invocaba para procurar amor entre hombre y mujer, para desatar tempestades, truenos y relámpagos, y para preguntar por cosas secretas y divinas. Trae consigo la advertencia operativa más clara de este tramo: aparece como ciervo de cola llameante y no dice verdad si no se le fuerza dentro del triángulo, donde toma forma de ángel y habla con voz ronca.

Although his name coincides with an ordinary Latin word, there is no evidence that Furfur derives from it, and the text offers no antecedent at all. The grimoire makes him a Great and Mighty Earl, a martial grade, with twenty-six legions. He was invoked to procure love between man and woman, to unleash tempests, thunder and lightning, and to be questioned about secret and divine things. He carries the clearest operative warning of this stretch: he appears as a hart with a flaming tail and does not speak the truth unless he is forced into the triangle, where he takes the form of an angel and speaks with a hoarse voice.
