With the ending -EL, which points to divine power, Ariel reads "God the revealer"; his three letters come from the 72-letter name kabbalah extracts from Exodus 14:19-21. Lenain assigns him to the Virtues, the choir that in Pseudo-Dionysius works wonders and rules nature, under Raphael, from 8 to 12 November. He is petitioned for the understanding of dreams, for revelations and for the finding of what lies hidden. Bifrons, of the same number, moves corpses from their graves and teaches the virtues of stones: crypt against revelation.
