Amy, whom other copies write Avnas or Auns, manifests first as a flaming fire and then takes the figure of a man. The name has no attested antecedent. He holds the grade of President, associated with Mercury in the grimoire's planetary logic, and disposes of thirty-six legions. Whoever called him asked for mastery of astrology and the liberal arts, good familiar spirits and, very specifically, the location of treasure guarded by other spirits: not lost gold, but watched gold. That distinction matters in practice, since it means negotiating with a guardian rather than simply digging where the find is indicated.
