With the suffix -IAH, which in kabbalistic nomenclature evokes mercy, Nemamiah reads "praiseworthy God"; its three letters come from the 72-letter versions deduced from Exodus 14:19-21. He heads the choir of the Archangels, who according to Pseudo-Dionysius carry the weightier messages, governed by Michael, from 1 to 5 January. He is petitioned for prosperity, just command and the release of captives. Ose, his counterpart, deranges the judgement and makes a man believe himself king: delusion against real authority.
